Today we dedicated the lesson to editing the footage we had previously filmed on the tuesday. Since we had less footage than we anticipated we felt it would be sensible to film some additional footage incase we end up needing fillers for the final production. Since our timing is rather unpredictable when shooting the stop-motion scenes we can never be 100% sure on the duration a scene will be therefore we decided to stick to the indie genre and film a few scenes with musical instruments which were available to us in the music department.
We filmed a total of 3 scenes, Symbols clashing, headphones fighting and a mic being attached by a wire. I am very happy with these scenes to a certain extent as I love how they've turned out in terms of lighting and quality but as for the headphones fighting I feel the clip ends to soon and should of been extentened. Despite this we still aren't fully sure if these clips will be needed but we have that reassurance if our stop motion doesn't manage to fill the whole song.
We have a few problems occur today, all of which were easily solved but rather time consuming. The images had been saved in the wrong format as CR files which then had to be individually saved into JPEGS in order for final cut pro to recognise the files. This was a slight set back however, I managed to complete this by the end of the day so we are still on track in terms of editing the footage.
As for future plans we are still hoping to include a performance of band to star as tonic but finding actors is appearing to still be tough. We are hoping to have actors secured by Thursday so we can then film them during our media lesson and have the video completed by Friday.
