What is a digipak?
A type of CD packaging which opens like a book with three or more parts. A digipak is a more artistic way to sell a CD as it allows the band to place more content onto the packaging than the average plastic CD design.
What does a digipak include?
The exact content of the digipak differs slightly for every artist but the basic content of a digipak is the CD, track listing, and images of the band or relating to the band as a whole. other content can include information about the band or even special thanks from the band.
After brainstorming the digipak certain aspects have become more clear which helps build up an image of what I want featured on the digipak. To start i definitely want images taken of the plasticine models we create to represent our band members featured on the digipak and also a photo of the band themselves. After the photo is taken i intend to go over the image in photoshop to give it a professional and animated finish so it doesn't appear to be made out of plasticine. However, to avoid placing to much attention on the band I wish to feature a silhouette of the band during a performance. i am also rather confident that the font will have a cartoon-ish style to it to tie in with he animated theme of the digipak.
